The MeeGo Handset : Nokia N9 and Sample Shots

Before we start : Video of a story about the making of the most beautifully simple smartphone.

A friend of mine has gotten himself a Nokia N9 recently. Nokia N9 is another new handset launched by Nokia running on MeeGo v1.2. MeeGo, a project that provides a Linux-based, open source software platform for the next generation of computing devices and it is visioned to offer innovative application experiences that users can take from device to device managed by the Linux Foundation. This handset feels a little bit heavier than Samsung Galaxy S2 in comparing just the appearance and in-palm-feeling. This Nokia N9 features 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 single core, 1GB of memory, internal memories of either 16GB or 64GB non-expendable, display of 3.9" AMOLED 854x480 resolution of screen, 8 megapixel camera with 720HD recordings, and of course a 14.4Mbps HSDPA.

The operating system running on this device is called MeeGo. As mentioned earlier in this post, it is an Linux-based open source software managed by Linus Foundation, a conclusion of a sleek yet neat user interface can be concluded right away when you are interacting with this Nokia N9. The interface is lovely as I simply went across the applications. It is sort of the two dominant multitouch operating systems available in the market today, in between. The only thing the owner, a friend of mine, commented on this os itself is that unlike other operating systems there are just too few applications available in its application store. Technically, he is referring to the most popular app called Whatsapp which is unavailable in this MeeGo-powered Nokia N9.

Photos taken with this Nokia N9 has a good quality but there is a disappointment in the photo of a Sony camera when I was trying to focus on that Sony camera with this device. The photo of a cat taken with the dual LED flash seems to be satisfying, not too bright or not too dark - well balanced. Nevertheless, the quality of the photos taken with this Nokia N9 are pretty satisfying.
