Penang Food Paradise #17 : Penang Famous Char Koay Kak

In relation to the previous Penang Food Paradise blog post on the Penang Famous Chee Cheong Fun, there is another famous stall that sells Char Koay Kak nearby which is in a few walking distance from the Chee Cheong Fun. The stall owner started her business for about 41 years selling the Famous Char Koay Kak in Penang's Mecalister Lane. The plates of Char Koay Kak is served together with a banana leaf beneath the Char Koay Kak which in other sense the banana leaf does a little favor in boosting the taste of the delicious Char Koay Kak. The ingredients consists of pieces carrot cakes, salted turnips, and bean sprouts which they will be fried together with the dark soy sauce with chilies and eggs as an optional.

Slices of carrot cakes and other ingredients were fried and being served on the table, Char Koay Kak.

This Char Koay Kak Stall and the Chee Cheong Fun's were the dishes I have since I were just a little kid. It has been more than 10 years having both of these awesome dishes. The Char Koay Kak we ordered are usually in 2 plates in which 1 plate with chilies and the other without chilies, both without eggs. What are you waiting for?
