Cornflakes With Berries As Breakfasts

My healthiest breakfasts ever since my university life started about 2 months ago. A healthy breakfast that consists of huge strawberries, edible blackberries, and honey cornflakes with milk. Why berries? First and the most important reason, they were cheap and with further discounted when I went for grocery shopping. Second, they are of course healthier than fruits but it does not mean fruits are not healthy.

Merritt's BlogThe berries are fresh and the strawberries are bigger than a spoon.

Ugh! Where can we find such huge and fresh strawberries in Malaysia? Regardless of that, berries contain phytochemicals and flavonoids that may help to prevent some forms of cancer. Cranberries and blueberries contain a substance that may prevent bladder infections. Eating a diet rich in blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, cranberries and strawberries may help to reduce your risk of several types of cancers. Blueberries and raspberries also contain lutein, which is important for healthy vision. [Source]

Merritt's BlogMy favourite healthy breakfast.

My favourite berries are strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries while I would love to try out the other berries available in the stores. What about yours? Have you eaten a healthy breakfast today?

Batavia Polarwave Snowtubing In New York

Soon after a few days of adaptation towards the Buffalo's winter weather, I followed my friends for my first snow tubing in Polarwave Snowtubing in Batavia, New York. It was still really cold for me at that moment upon arrival to our destination in the afternoon when the afternoon here was "not" an afternoon.

What snow tubing exactly is? It is a recreational activity where an individual rides on top of an inner "donut-shaped" tube (We will call it tayar) on snowy slope or a hill propelled by the force of gravity towards the bottom of the slope or hill which is actually fun and exciting. The taller and longer the slope is, the more excitement you will get!

We got our passes as soon as we arrived at Polarwave Snowtubing from the counter. The ticket was to be pinned with our jackets. We got ourselves few hours of passes to start our joy queueing up to the slope for our snow tubing.

MERRITTSLAU.COM We dragged our "donuts" to the queue.

MERRITTSLAU.COM We were sitting on our "donuts" which were hooked on the machines that dragged each us up towards the slope.

MERRITTSLAU.COM Yes, that is the American flag on the top of the slope we got onto by the machines!

Snow tubing was really awesome after all, we tried different tactics snow tubing with our "donuts" down the slopes in either pairs, groups, and individually. If you are snow tubing with a bunch of friends and especially in a big group down the slope, position yourself at the back of the group so that you could feel the pulling force as you are going down and spin your "donut" if you are going down individually. We spent our passes wisely over the excitement and enjoyment before we decided to leave and have our dinner.

Photo sessions before we actually left the place. It was the first experience I played under the snow and since my arrival to the United States of America. Winter, it was not bad though to me though. Or we came from all-time hot weather location perhaps?

Farewells & Gatherings With My Family & Friends

Time really does flies. I left my lovely hometown to further my studies in the United States of America for a month and a few days since then. I first appreciate that family's support in allowing me to further my studies abroad especially my father and my mother for this eye opening experience and thank you my awesome friends who turned up for the farewells and gatherings, sending me off at the airport, and even wished me.

The second farewell, or you call it a gathering, was held in a famous marina mall in Penang Island. They are my high school buddies who I had my farewell together with before chilling out in a pub in the same mall. The farewell was incredibly joyful when it comes to a set of 3 or 4 drinking games where most of the time, the games are testing your reflexes and the collaboration of your mind and body. All of us had an awesome night playing the game and chitchatting, it was really a blast!

One of the family farewell held in a recently commenced restaurant serving the delicious Italian spaghetti, pizzas, and so on in a soon-to-be shopping mall in Gurney Drive. Oh, how I miss spending time with my family enjoying delectable foods!

Some of you guys might be wondering "What about the first farewell?!". It was a real repentant that we did not manage to take any photos that night but I was really delighted to have my farewell with you guys. Fellow course mates, You know who you are and please do not blame the jam in the mall's car park because we will somehow meet again!

The day of departure, it was a really hard for me to leave my lovely family, friends, and hometown behind. I hate looking at my parents whose eyes were covered with tears. Let me promise you, father and mother, I will be a better person than yesterday, stronger than who I was, and lastly I will not forget who and what I am! But looking at the other way, instead of feeling sad and emotional, I was eager to see what are the next chapter of my life in the United States going to bring me.
I appreciate all the moments back there and I will be seeing you all again!
